Job Advert
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and hard working GP to join our dedicated team at Camphill Medical Practice and provide high quality care to our patients in an environment of warmth and compassion. The ideal candidate will play an active role within the practice to contribute to the maintenance of our high standards and help develop patient services for the future. We work as a close-knit team and make decisions together at weekly meetings so a team mindset is important to this role. Finding the right candidate is important to us so we are willing to be flexible to accommodate preferences regarding working hours where possible.
We take a holistic approach and value continuity of care and personalised approaches. Our standard GP appointments last 15 minutes and this allows us to more effectively respond to medical complexity and individual preferences. In addition to conventional medicine, where appropriate and wanted by patients, our clinicians offer an extended approach including lifestyle medicine, natural and homeopathic medicines and sometimes therapies (in association with the Camphill Wellbeing Trust). Training in this approach through the Camphill Wellbeing Trust is available if desired.
The practice is rather unique in other respects too: the practice is built in tranquil natural surroundings and houses an art gallery in the waiting room. We have a list size of around 1875 patients (but growing steadily), a number of whom have moderate to severe learning disabilities; an interest in this field would be advantageous. The practice also has a high proportion of elderly patients with complex medical needs; therefore an interest in Elderly Medicine would also be advantageous.
As a Section 2c Practice, practice staff are employees of NHS Grampian and are managed by Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership.
There is no contracted OOH commitment, however sessions working in Unscheduled Care would be available separately from GMED, (local OOH provider) or A&E Department, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
NHS Grampian is a people-focused organisation offering employment practices which are both flexible and family-friendly.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
