The Post:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in Practitioner and Counter Fraud Services (a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) of NHS National Services Scotland) and to help improve the health and wellbeing of the 
of Scotland.
As a vital part of NHS Scotland, NHS National Services Scotland (NHS NSS) works in partnership with a wide range of organisations - NHS clinicians and management, government, Health and Social Care Integration Bodies, Family Health Services contractors, local authorities, voluntary organisations, academia and many others.The SBU supports accurate payments and patient registration for NHS Services to Scotland’s GPs, dentists, pharmacies and optometrists, processing and checking thousands of claims every month. We work to deter and detect fraud both inside the NHS and beyond, coordinating awareness campaigns and leading investigations.
We currently have a vacancy within the Customer Administration Team for a Team Leader. The team will include initially 4 Customer Administration Officers focusing on the New Eye Care services tasks however may in future work on the other elements of the Customer Administration teams tasks.
The Team Leader works very closely with the Clinical Dental / Ophthalmic Advisors to ensure security and confidentiality procedures are maintained, and that the Statement of Dental Remuneration and Statement of Ophthalmic remuneration is adhered to. Team leader also works closely with the Operations Manager and Business Improvement team to ensure they are involved and engaged in any future developments, in line with the strategic direction of the business.The Team Leader role includes management of the team allocation and monitoring of workloads, review, development and training of staff, managing annual leave and work patterns, reporting KPI’s and investigating queries from practitioners, Clinical Advisors and Health Boards. The Team Leader provides support and guidance to the team, developing their skills and knowledge, and manages the ongoing changes that members face.
The Candidate:
Candidates should be educated to HNC level and have proven experience in a managerial and administration role. The successful applicant will have excellent managerial and communication skills and be able to work to demanding timescales. Experience in a similar health related, patient focused, working environment would be an advantage. Candidates should be enthusiastic and strongly motivated, with a desire to provide an excellent and accurate service. Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Location:
The role has a permanent location based in Edinburgh, but flexible working will allow the post holder to operate from a remote location on a regular basis. The post holder must be prepared to attend the fixed location at the request of the organisation when deemed essential.
Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
