Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

A support secretary is required to help provide a comprehensive administrative support to the Respiratory department. Occasional assistance
in other admin roles may be required within the service.  You should have SVQ3 qualifications in business administration or secretarial services or equivalent qualification. You will have at least 2 years’ experience within an office-based secretarial service and advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office packages is essential.  The role of the job is challenging and a high degree of accuracy is required at all times.

You will be required to:

  • Support the Respiratory service, with a focus on the Lung Cancer Service.
  • Use your own initiative and competency whilst exercising a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Be responsible for scheduling your own workload to ensure typing is done within turnaround targets.
  • Be responsible for producing accurate outcome sheets for the relevant secretaries to act on which will include being proactive in understanding how to pull such data from dictation.
  •  Resolve problems including incorrect or unclear dictation.

You will be expected to attend in-house training opportunities for personal development and ongoing learning.

Reasonable knowledge of NHS systems is desirable. A working knowledge and understanding of the NHS Trakcare system would be advantageous.
