This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
- To provide a specialist nursing resource for the management of patients with long-term / permanent complex ventilation needs by managing a defined caseload. And manage relevant equipment and supplies.
- To act independently to provide a full comprehensive specialist service of assessment, appropriate treatment management, onward referrals and be involved in complex discharge.
- To direct, liaise, negotiate and collaborate with health care, social care and fund-holding bodies to ensure the best outcomes for the above patient group.
- To plan, arrange and provide and monitor patient investigations and consultant clinic time to ensure the least distress to the patient.
- To supervise clinical support workers and junior members of staff
- To develop and deliver training programmes for a wide range of professionals, carers and families, to educate and significant others in the understanding of both the therapy process and any interventions relating to the management of the patients medical and social needs.
