Band 5 Salary: 28,384 - 35,365.  Hourly rate: 14.52 - 18.09

An opportunity has arisen for the post of Maintenance Chargehand Plumbing to join our team within NHS Tayside, based at Ninewells Hospital.

The Post holder will be qualified, trained and competent to provide support to meet the needs of the service and ensuring that equipment and structures are repaired and maintained within the organisation to carry out their intended purpose safely.

Minimum requirements for the post are knowledge acquired through Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Ordinary Certificate (ONC) with experience in relevant discipline and recognised Craft / Modern Apprenticeship.

Some of the main duties of the post will be to directly supervise or co-ordinate staff under their remit, to utilise Computer Aided Facilities Management Systems (CAFMS) to prioritise and allocate planned work and break downs, to carry out risk assessments and formulate method statements, to plan maintenance activities (including staff rotas and overtime works) and assist in minor work planning and preparation.

The Post holder will be required to work at any NHS Tayside property as necessary, therefore the ability to travel is essential.

Hours of work: 0800 – 1600 Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) – Fixed Term for 6 months

Internal - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment.  You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview. 

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Inductions standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
