Reporting to a South Locality Health Improvement Senior, you will work across South Locality HSCP area. You will be required to provide health improvement expertise and advice to develop colleagues/partners/communities  and clients capacity to promote health and reduce health inequalities. This includes presenting verbally to a range of community and partner forums.

 

You will have delegated responsibility for Health Improvement work areas within the HSCP South Locality. They will have responsibility for establishing and sustaining links with key partners and stakeholders from staff teams, local authority and voluntary sector and community organisations to effect change.

 

Other responsibilities include the development, design and delivery of training to build capacity for health improvement in terms of skills and knowledge.

 

You will also contribute to the decision making process to develop a team action plan and for specific budgetary spend within portfolio 5. You will also be required to deputise for your line manager and HSCP as required and be responsible for alerting senior staff to issues/events that require a sensitive  and timorous response.

 

An awareness and understanding of public health policy and practice through continuous personal development maintaining practitioner health improvement/public health competencies will be an essential part of the role.

 

It is essential you have a Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with significant

experience of working in health improvement, public health or a relevant health/health improvement arena. Experience of working in a relevant topic or skills based area, e.g.  nutrition, young people, mental health, physical activity, nursing, community development, training, research would be beneficial.

 

The post offered is for 5 days (37.5) hours per week, with the working pattern of Monday to Friday.
