The shift pattern for this post is 7.5 hours worked Monday - Friday.

We are interested in hearing from suitably experienced registered nurses with relevant post-registration qualifications, experience and proven skills to join the team in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries as Clinical Nurse Specialist Spinal Injuries Liaison Service Band 7. This post holder has continuing responsibility and accountability for the management and delivery of specialist nursing care to patients with Spinal cord injuries; the assessment of care needs, the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards for discharged spinal patients throughout Scotland. Focusing on assessment and interventions to prevent and manage secondary complications to ensure high standard patient centred care lifelong care. The post holder coordinates and delivers the spinal injury outreach clinic service supporting the needs of patients with spinal cord injury in Scotland. The post holder will provide clinical support and advice to patients, carer’s, family and all members of nursing, medical and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Candidates essential criteria includes specialist knowledge relating to spinal cord injury, evidence of continuing professional development, registered nurse with a minimum of 5 years experience as band 6, relevant managerial and clinical skills.

Desirable criteria – Clinical Assessment Module, Non medical prescribing module, and experience in a Clinical Nurse Specialist role.
