We are looking for NMC/HCPC registered practitioners that have experience within the operating department/ PACU or transferable skills from other areas.
The obstetric OD will relocate to the Baird Family Hospital alongside Breast and Gynaecological surgical services, all 3 specialties will be served by 6 brand new Operating Rooms (ORs). The Baird Family Hospital is currently under construction on the Foresterhill site and will have linked access to both the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The new hospital will offer the families of NHS Grampian the latest in modern medical technology and practice, whilst affording those working within the hospital, the facilities to promote safe, enhanced care.
The new ORs in the Baird Family Hospital will form part of the Integrated Family Portfolio of NHS Grampian Acute sector. As such, there will be the opportunity to become a multi-specialty skilled PACU practitioner with the addition of breast and gynaecology patients in addition to obstetrics. The future truly is bright and the opportunities for practitioners with the desire to develop their skills/knowledge, are endless.
Aberdeen Maternity Hospital ORs, where the initial placement will occur, are a busy, pressurised and unpredictable environment. The ideal candidate will discover that there are an infinite number of learning opportunities and with the support of the team, they will become a PACU practitioner with exceptional skill.
