An exciting opportunity is available for registered nurse Band 6- 32.25 hours Permanent position working within the West Dunbartonshire are as Additional support for learning needs nurse.

The service delivers nursing care to children in the community with learning disabilities, complex healthcare care needs and Neurodiversity in West Dunbartonshire including Kilpatrick (Additional Support for Learning) School, Acorn Centre within Vale of Leven Hospital and other various specialist and mainstream educational establishments as required.

Post holder will support the Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Team Lead in managing the effective deployment of nursing resource within the pathways.

The post holder will have a responsibility for the supporting, teaching and developing junior staff and learners and will deputise in the absence of the Clinical Nurse Specialist / Team Lead

The post holder must have the ability to work on their own and also as part of a multi-disciplinary team, promoting integrated nursing approaches and be able to make appropriate clinical judgements independently, with referral management, education staff training and Individual care packages.

The post holder will participate in multi-disciplinary assessment of children and  will be responsible for assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of care plans, providing nursing interventions as necessary in school, community or Acorn Centre.

including those with additional support needs with nurse lead assessments, Sleep behaviours and other associated interventions as identified.

The post holder will promote the principles of self care to children and young people, families and carers and empower them to access and use health resources in the community.
