These posts are particular looking at those candidates who wish to come into the NHS as a first post. Students who are participating in Health related sciences will be considered.
Contracted hours will be from 11.53 -37.5 hours rotas to allow work/ life balance.
All candidates must commit initially to a block induction lasting a 3-4 weeks so that orientation and assessments can occur.
Enthusiastic candidates with an aptitude to learn and develop themselves are invited to join the North Theatre departments within Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill ACH Day Hospital. Opportunities exist within this post for candidates wishing to progress their career as a HCSW to further their career after an internal programme to then go through an educational pathway with SVQ and clinical supervision that may lead to becoming a scrub assistant (Band 4) or perhaps supported through general training or scrub practitioner training within identified Further Education institutes.
You will have the chance to work with this patient group and the opportunity to work alongside and be supported by experienced nurses, clinical nurse specialists and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide essential training. The working and learning environment is one where you can feel proud to provide a high standard of care to the patients and this role is perfect for a motivated nurse with an interest in Theatre Nursing. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritise workload efficiently, the skill to deliver a high standard of quality care and the ability to further your personal development
The shift pattern is initially day shift – 4 shifts Monday to Friday however an expectancy to be able to be fully rotational 7 days/nights is essential.
