As a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist managing patients with Epilepsy and associated symptoms, under the supervision of the Band 7 within the Epilepsy Service, you are required to have had significant relevant experience working within the Neurology Service and have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical & psychosocial aspects of care for this defined patient group, previous nurse specialist experience would be advantageous. As part of a clinical team under the leadership of the Lead Nurse and supervision of the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for working in an interdisciplinary manner to provide safe and effective care for people with Epilepsy, including targeted patient groups including pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations .You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, interface with hospital clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of ITC skills. This post will support & facilitate change. The hours of this post are 18.75, worked over 3 days. It is essential that you are a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC with significant post registration experience (Desirable) within the relevant speciality.  You would be required to have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
