We are recruiting a Senior Medical Photographer (band 6) to join our friendly and forward thinking team. This is a temporary post, one day a week (7.5 hours) providing clinical photography cover based at University Hospital Ayr.
The post will suit an experienced medical photographer who is able to manage their own workload.
Motivation is key to enable you to work alone to promote and develop the department at Ayr. You will be working as part of a small supportive team (main base at Crosshouse) who share the same goal – to provide a high quality service to staff and patients, therefore excellent communication and teamworking skills are important. A caring attitude and sensitivity is essential as there is frequent patient contact in this role.
We provide a full range of professional clinical photography services (including ophthalmic, dental, dermoscopy and 3D Imaging) and Diabetic Retinal Screening (as part of the National Screening Programme). Our role is varied and interesting and includes non-clinical photography, graphic design, large format print services, digital media and video production. We work closely with patients and support our colleagues across NHS Ayrshire and Arran in the delivery of high quality patient care, teaching and research.
To apply, you must have a recognized clinical photography degree level qualification, be on the national AHCS register and have full membership of a professional body. Relevant experience as a qualified medical photographer is desirable.
All applicants will be required to join the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme.
You will be required to provide clinical cover across NHS Ayrshire and Arran therefore a full driving license and own transport is essential.
You will be based at University Hospital Ayr (with initial training and ongoing rotational working at University Hospital Crosshouse).
This is a fixed term contract, part-time (7.5 hours per week).
For an informal discussion, please contact Sharon Sutherland on 01563 827479.
Applications are welcome from UK, EEA and non-EEA candidates.
