Specialist Occupational Therapist – Band 6
An exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time position has arisen with the Neuro Rehabilitation Service (NRS) based within Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Greenock. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our close working multidisciplinary team. Working with a committed, and proactive multidisciplinary therapy team, you will assess and treat patients with complex neurological conditions with a key role in developing independence, risk assessment, condition management and health promotion. There is an expectation that you will continue with the established role to assess and treat cognitive impairments and provide advice around this to members within the MDT, carers and families. There is also a key role for Occupational Therapy to undertake complex discharge planning and at times this can be to areas out with Inverclyde. The post holder will work flexibly across inpatient, outpatient and community services. Within NRS we pride ourselves on our seamless service, offering rehab and promoting condition management in the Inverclyde community following patients’ discharge from the ward. You will also treat community patients referred via other Services e.g. GP, Clinical Nurse Specialists. The community caseload can be complex, diverse and demanding. NRS has an established robust Supervision policy in place, regular in-service training opportunities, and time and encouragement will be provided towards self and role development. Within Inverclyde there are established close working partnerships with HSCP and third sector agencies. The post holder will show commitment to Quality Improvement with opportunities to contribute towards Service Development.
