This post is an exciting opportunity to join the Moving and handling team. We are looking for an individual who has a keen interest in supporting others to learn and who can use their clinical / care skills, knowledge and experience to improve moving and handling practice.

As well as improving staff safety, the role contributes to patient safety and the care provided across NHS Highland. You will work with the Moving and Handling Manager and the team of Advisors and Trainers to provide co-ordination of training and support to staff in Moving and Handling. As well as delivering training this entails scheduling courses and workshops, communicating with managers and staff, and monitoring and contributing to the development of the service to ensure the effective delivery of Moving and Handling education to staff.

Applicants should be educated to 1st degree level or equivalent in a life science, have experience of delivering care in a health / social care setting and have some experience as a trainer or educator.  There may be an opportunity for this post to be offered as a Development role.

A specific qualification in moving and handling or Teaching and Learning and / or being a Moving and Handling Keyworker are not essential but would be an advantage.

Good communication and presentation skills are essential and a working knowledge of IT including databases and presentation software an advantage.  We are looking for someone who is motivated and keen to learn and has the ability to demonstrate good practice and deliver information in an engaging way to encourage and facilitate learning.
