We are looking for new dietetic/community food (cooking, growing)/ therapy assistants to join our growing team of dietitians, nutritionists and community food workers in NHS Forth Valley (FV). We welcome applicants who would like full or part time hours: please note that 11.25 hours (1.5 days) of this opportunity is a *secondment opportunity / fixed-term for 18 months due to funding.

The role of a dietetic assistant is to support the Registered Dietitians and Community Food Development workers in their day to day work, aiding in the assessment, monitoring and review of patients, assist in the delivery of education, programmes and training and to a lesser extent, related administrative duties e.g. stock ordering, resource administration.

The successful post holder will be interested in food and health and have experience of working with the general public or a range of clients/customers.  Experience in a health or social care environment is highly desirable.   They must be able to work as part of a team, have good organisational and communication skills and basic IT skills.  

Once in post, further training will be given specific to the role. 

The Forth Valley Healthier Future Team is friendly and proactive providing a range of services within Falkirk and Stirling Community Hospitals and a variety of Community Services.  This post will be part of a large team of dietitians, nutritionists, health improvement specialists, community food development & family workers and admin support providing a wide variety of health care and health improvement services.  All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary provide some cover to other parts of the service.  NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, easy access to major cities and spectacular countryside.
