As an integral member of the PCMHT, the post-holder will be responsible for providing and supervising assessment, risk management and implementation of psychological therapy programs with individuals suffering with common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and adjustment disorder, using strength based recovery focused approach that involves the patient as a partner in their care-planning.  The post holder is required to undertake duties without direct supervision as well as supporting and supervising work undertaken by others. The post-holder is responsible for proactively promoting partnership working with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies. This involves working in the local GP surgeries and on occasions other community environments including patients homes. The service will provide sessional input to all GP practices within Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) and form an integral part of the provision of mental health care at Tier 1 level.  Clinical Psychology provision will be integrated into the function of this Team which will be further supported through close liaison with Inverclyde Community Mental Health Team.  Key functions include supervising the practice of others, monitoring undertaking mentorship responsibilities and supporting the team leader in the ongoing learning and development of the staff team and the PCMHT key functions.  

The post holder is required to hold relevant post-registration  qualification i.e BA, BSc, Diploma in either:

    • Mental Health Nurse (RN3/ RNMH) level 1  OR
    • Occupational Therapist with (Specialist interest/experience in Mental Health)

And have current NMC or HCPC registration.  While this highlights the key functions, the role requirement extends to the entire community mental health service where required.
