An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy team covering Inverness & Ross. This post will be based in Ross Memorial Hospital, Dingwall but flexibility across the service is required. The MSK service encompasses the Highland Rheumatology Unit, delivering specialist care to patients with rheumatic disease as well as outpatient care to help people who have sustained Musculoskeletal injury, such as fractures. Management and education on living with chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis is a vital part of the service.
Physiotherapy uses movement, exercise and education to enable people to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life.
As a band 3 physiotherapy assistant, you will support the physiotherapists with clinical interventions and undertake delegated work independently following a plan issued by qualified staff. Previous experience as an AHP support worker, delivering education or group exercise sessions is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
The successful candidate must be able to help deliver NHS Hydrotherapy sessions in the Puffin Pool.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required. You are expected to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be IT literate. You will be required to participate in regular in-service training, supervision and other CPD opportunities.
Flexibility is expected but a probable working pattern will be:
Tuesday 9.15-5, Wednesday 8.30-12, Thursday 1.30-5 and Friday 8.30-1.
