NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An opportunity has arisen for Assistant Practitioners to work with the Community Nursing Service in the North Locality. Working within an experienced team, this role gives the post holder the opportunity to work autonomously and take responsibility for independent decision making.

You would be supporting our local initiatives to advance patient centred care within their own homes. You will be based in the Blairgowrie area, covering community nursing duties, but with the requirement to work flexibly across the locality to meet service needs.

We are looking for individuals who have previous experience of working as a support worker. The ability to work well within a team is essential as well as the ability to work without direct supervision. You will need to have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills and be able to motivate service users.

You should have a genuine interest in community working and the diversity it brings. We are looking for leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. You should be a team player with a wide range of clinical knowledge and skills and evidence of a continuous professional development.

Community experience would be an advantage.
