An exciting opportunity has arisen for 5 trainee Assistant Practitioners to join the District Nursing teams.
Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see Terms and Conditions).
Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period. Where periods of training last for between one and four years, pay will be adjusted as follows:
(i) up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
You must have excellent organisational skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be a team player and have a genuine interest in working in the community.
Previous community experience would be essential. Patients are seen within own homes, and care homes in order to deliver excellent nursing care. The main focus of the team is preventing unnecessary admission, supporting earliest possible discharge from hospital and enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their homes.
You will be required to support the effective District Nursing Team deliver excellent evidence based treatment and care to the practice population of house bound patients.
You will be required to have knowledge and experience and be committed to undertaking an academic course. Our service offers regular supervision and supports training opportunities and you will be allocated a mentor
You must have an ability to travel across the Fife-wide division if the service warrants it and to provide evening cover as required.
You will be required to work within a 24 hour, 7 day Community Nursing Service. These posts will include working weekends and public holidays.
