This is an exciting opportunity for a senior occupational therapist within Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (Woodlands Resource Centre) within East Dunbartonshire. There is opportunity to develop and lead on service improvement within the service, and link with wider NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde developments. The band 6 occupational therapist has supervision responsibility for a band 5 occupational therapist within the multi-disciplinary team. The Older Adult Mental Health Team provides specialist advice and response to those individuals experiencing acute and enduring mental health issues, manages crisis and prevents unscheduled hospital admission and to maintain residents within their homely environment.  The postholder will carry out specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions with patients to aid recovery and maximise their functioning and safety within the community. There is an expectation that standardised assessment and tools will be considered during patient intervention to demonstrate the effectiveness of occupational therapy intervention. Effective communication skills are required to provide specialist professional advice to the MDT, other disciplines, carer’s and agencies.The occupational therapy team links with the wider mental health occupational therapy service governance structure to support professional and service developments within East Dunbartonshire HSCP, and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. There is an expectation that you will provide student placements.

It is essential you have a Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
