Education Facilitator (Care Homes), Band 6
Permanent post: 0.4 WTE or 2 x 7.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated registered nurses to join NHS Lothian’s Clinical Education & Training Team to support Care Homes in NHS Lothian to supervise and assess pre-registration nurses. The applicants should have an understanding of the NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment as well as having previous experience of assessing student nurses in practice. In addition, being involved in an education/training role or having participated in education programmes and having proven leadership ability in practice is essential. A background in Care Homes or a community based setting would be desirable. Applicants must have approved practice assessor experience.

The interview will require applicants to prepare a 5 minute discussion regarding the opportunities and challenges of supervising and assessing students on placement in care homes.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
