Band 5 (£30,229 - £37,664) Pharmacy Technician – Women and Children’s team.
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated registered pharmacy technician with post registration experience to join our team within Women and Children’s services. The post will be based at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) and work will be based within the pharmacy of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH) focusing on the safe and effective supply of medicines to neonatal, paediatric, maternity and fertility patients.
This post is an integral part of the Women and Children’s pharmacy team of pharmacists, technicians, assistants and rotational staff and you will develop a close working relationship with the pharmacy team in RACH and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI) and also the wider multidisciplinary teams within the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (AMH) and RACH. This role also has a research and development (R+D) component supporting the safe supply of clinical trial medicines to paediatric patients, working closely with the R+D paediatric pharmacist and the ARI Clinical trials pharmacy team.
The Neonatal Unit and Maternity services are based in the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (AMH) and in 2023/4 the new Baird Family Hospital which is a new purpose built facility is due to open on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary site and will replace the AMH. When this opens Fertility services, Gynaecology and Breast services will also move into the Baird expanding the role and remit of this post and wider the pharmacy team. Paediatric services and the base for the pharmacy team is within RACH, this will be linked directly to the Baird Family Hospital when complete.
You will be qualified pharmacy technician with post registration experience in pharmacy practice in any sector and be able to work effectively as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment. You will also be required to take an active role in the supervision and training of staff and student pharmacy technicians. You will ideally be an Accredited Checking Technician or will work towards this when in role.
This role includes a commitment to weekend working.
