Do you want to be at the forefront of transforming clinical pharmacy?  Do you want to work with a dynamic, supportive and friendly team?

Across NHS Fife we work as an integrated pharmacy service across hospital, primary care and specialist teams, under an integrated senior management team striving to improve health care for the patients within Fife. Our aim is to provide seamless care for our patients transitioning between care settings to ensure the best outcomes for each patient and their medicines.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy technician registered with the GPhC to join our integrated pharmacy team. You will be based in the Victoria Hospital working within the supported discharge ward and the rapid assessment and discharge unit. On these wards you will see a range of specialities such as medicines for the elderly, general medicine, respiratory, cardiology and gastroenterology.
The main roles will involve medicines reconciliation, ensuring supply of medicines, facilitating patients discharge, patient education and management and education of others.

The role will involve a lot of patient contact and team work with other healthcare professionals therefore our ideal candidate would have good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with others. Experience of working in a clinical environment and management of staff would be a requirement for this role. The candidate would need to be able to integrate well as part of the pharmacy and multidisciplinary team and be able to work independently when required.  As part of the role you will have sessions to enable you to maintain your checking qualification. As a trust we support the education and development of our staff and encourage innovation and new ideas.

Informal discussion/visits to the department are strongly encouraged. Why not visit the hospital and allow us to show you around and answer any questions you may have related to this role or working in Pharmacy in NHS Fife.
