You will undertake training to provide a high quality, efficient and effective diagnostic imaging service to the maternity unit by:  Learning to carry out a full range of obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound examinations and producing written reports which will be countersigned by qualified Sonographers.  Provide direct care and facilitating patient management, seeking assistance when required.  You will undertake and complete successfully a Postgraduate Certificate in Obstetric and Gynaecology Ultrasound at a CASE accredited University and learn to evaluate requests for ultrasound examination to ensure adequate clinical information available to enable correct selection of technique.  You will learn to undertake, and independently report (written and verbal), the full range of obstetric ultrasound and gynaecological examinations, providing direct care, and aiding patient management by communicating findings, seeking advice when required. You will be required to successfully complete mandatory training to Postgraduate Certificate level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound. Upon successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound you will be employed as a band 7 sonographer. You will be expected to work full time for a minimum of two years post qualification to consolidate training.  It is essential that you are currently registered with the NMC or HCPC.  You should be a qualified Midwife or Radiographer.  You should have significant clinical experience withing current profession.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Sunday 9.00am - 5.00pm.  This post will be based at Princess Royal Maternity, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Royal Alexandra Hospital along with other NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde locations.
