We have an exciting opportunity for a lead Cardiac Physiologist ( Cardiac devices ) to join our team at University Hospital Hairmyres
The post will be responsible for the Day to day Management of the Cardiac Device Service on designated Site and will perform and independently report Highly Complex Cardiac Device Interrogations and other specialist cardiac investigations. The post holder will train and supervise Cardiac Physiologists and occasionally medical staff in advanced practice specialist procedures.
Organisation and co-ordination of invasive procedures such as implantation of PPM/ICD.
Assessment and reprogramming of patient implanted devices in order to optimise function for the patient’s cardiac general status and safe care... Administration work related to device follow up clinic i.e. device database – input of device follow up information.
The post holder will be expected to participate in the development of new and emerging technologies associated with devices and actively participate in clinical research.
Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required
B.Sc. in Clinical Physiology or HNC in Physiological Measurement and additional theoretical knowledge gained EITHER through professional examinations (e.g. - Associate membership Society for Cardiological Science and Technology)
OR, in-service experience.
In addition: Minimum of three years experience at senior technician level and working towards professional accreditations at an advanced level of study.
