LOCUM APPOINTMENT FOR TRAINING IN MEDICINE OF THE ELDERLY
Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, Full time (40 hours per week) post based in The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
This post has deanery approval for training and the successful applicant will receive training opportunities at the appropriate level based on previous experience.
Applications are invited for the above post offering clinical experience within Medicine of the Elderly (MoE) and Stroke services with opportunities for career development through dedicated time for developmental activity.
The MoE experience is predominantly ward based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) and as part of the Frailty Service in the Acute Medical Unit extending out to liaison and community settings.
This post includes a commitment to Hospital at Night and weekend working and this will be a banded post.
The successful applicant will provide input to MoE as part of an enthusiastic and committed multidisciplinary team. There may be a range of opportunities to work in different parts of the service including the community.
You will be an integral part of consultant led ward rounds following through on management plans. You will also lead ward rounds and provide support and documentation for notes and multidisciplinary team meetings. You will be readily available to the multidisciplinary team for medical advice and provide regular updates to families. You will provide support to junior doctors, nursing staff and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. You will contribute to a well organised discharge process and will ensure there is good communication with GPs.
