NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.

Two opportunities have arisen within NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to apply for the post of Dental Tutor with the Dental Care Professional (DCP) Workstream.

The DCP workstream provides a range of education provision which includes pre and post registration training for dental nurses, orthodontic therapists, practice managers and receptionists. Utilising digital technologies, our blended learning programmes provide a flexible and sustainable approach for our learners and their employers across Scotland.

We are seeking two GDC registered dental care professionals (possessing a dental nurse qualification) with active post registration portfolios who also have a keen interest in learning and development.  Experience in designing, delivering training, mentoring or assessing learners would be advantageous, but training and support will be provided.

These posts will contribute to the development and delivery of a full range of blended learning programmes provided by the workstream.  As a Dental Tutor you will support the Lead DCP Tutor and team of Dental Tutors in the delivery, assessment and quality assurance of the programmes provided, which will include using a range of methods and technologies to support training and assessment.

As an effective team player, applicants must possess excellent organisational, communication and digital skills. Some experience of online learning would be valuable.

You will be expected to deal with a range of queries from a variety of professionals in a courteous and professional manner.

Joining a highly dynamic team within NHS Education for Scotland you will work with the Lead DCP Tutor, team of Dental Tutors, National Workstream Lead, and Business Support Teams to plan and deliver DCP education and training, ensuring a consistent approach is delivered in all centres, through standardised processes.

This is exciting and rewarding work which aims to support pre and post registration training for dental nurses, orthodontic therapists, practice managers and receptionists, to enable the delivery of safe, person-centered and effective high-quality dental care.
