This is a full-time permanent post. Shift pattern: Rotational, Monday – Sunday, days, nights, 12hr shifts.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within Neurosurgery within the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The Department of Neurosurgery provides exciting pioneering Neurosurgical procedures and care as part of regional services for the West of Scotland.  We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic staff nurses to join our teams across various wards.

We have three, 22 bedded wards which provide Emergency and elective neurosurgical and spinal care as part of the Neuroscience Service to the West of Scotland.

All staff will be supported by our dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator for Neurosciences, and undergo an in-house training competency framework and university accredited courses to support your development.

The post holder:

  • will work 12-hour shifts to cover the 24/7 service.
  • must be a registered nurse. Experience in the field of neurosurgical nursing is preferred, but not essential.​​​​​​​
  • must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients (or a commitment to learn and develop these skills).
