The Post:
As a major division within the NHS National Services Scotland, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research and donor services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards to patient care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
The Candidate:
Working within the New Developments section of SNBTS Manufacturing, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Service Improvement Manager. Working closely with the Head of New Developments, the post holder will provide expert knowledge, advice and support in blood processing and testing and drive continuous improvement activities in this area. The post is based in the Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh although there will be some opportunity to work remotely.
Applicants for this post should be a registered as a Biomedical Scientist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have higher qualification e.g. MSc in Transfusion Science or other relevant qualification or extensive experience post registration with several years as an effective manager.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh
Monday to Friday37.5 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
