Orthopaedic Supported Discharge Team

Deputy Charge Nurse – Band 6

Full time - (37.5 hours)

9-month secondment opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Charge Nurse to join our dynamic Orthopaedic Supported Discharge Team. This small, multidisciplinary team is based within the Orthopaedic wards at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh but provides short term rehabilitation to Orthopaedic and Major Trauma patients, promoting flow by facilitating early supported discharge from the acute setting. The team includes: Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Health Care Support and Admin.

You will occasionally be working in the community, delivering rehabilitation in patients own homes, therefore you will be expected to travel between patients homes within Edinburgh.

Candidates must display evidence of clinical experience of work in a variety as well as showing a particular interest in Orthopaedics and Major Trauma. Ability to prioritise and manage a complex caseload is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members / students is essential.

The B7 Team Lead will support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.
