Senior Communications Officer
Salary Range: Band 7 + on call allowance
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced communications professional to join an award-winning communications team. NHSGGC is the largest single health authority in the UK and as such you can expect to manage a wide range of complex issues. Your key responsibilities will include effective media relations and so a strong working relationship with the Scottish media and how to influence it is essential. You will also have the opportunity to deliver the breadth of communications activities within corporate communications including social marketing campaigns, development of web and other digital content and content creation for NHSGGC’s various award winning staff and external publications. You will be a confident and motivated individual with a degree in Journalism, PR or media communications. Essential to the post is a minimum of five years current experience as a journalist or in a media/communications/PR role. Strong communications and writing skills are also a must. Knowledge of the NHS or the public sector would be an advantage. The post also involves out-of-hours media cover in a one-in-four rotational basis.
