Job Advert

In order to apply to for this position you must have a live pin with the NMC UK.

Applications from 2023 Newly Qualified Nurse/Midwife, will not be considered for this post.

The shift pattern for this position is long days (Monday- Saturday)

This post is to recruit a full time band 5 nurse for the busy Community Dialysis Training Unit at Stobhill Hospital.

The unit is part of the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Renal Service and the post arises at an exciting time for the service as both the community haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services are due to merge on the Stobhill Site later this year.

The post is initially for the community haemodialysis unit but the successful postholder will also have the exciting opportunity to expand their skillset within the community CAPD service and may be required to provide cover for the service during staff absence.
The community haemodialysis unit provides training for patients and relatives on haemodialysis to allow them to safely carry out their own treatment at home. The unit is responsible for monitoring and ensuring safe treatment for these patients, as well as caring for patients who are on regular haemodialysis therapy within the unit.

Previous haemodialysis experiences is preferable, but not essential, as teaching and training will be provided, the post is therefore an excellent opportunity to develop new nursing skills within a friendly outpatient environment.
You will work within the nursing and multi professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group. You will competently perform the necessary technical aspects of care. You will assess patient needs – plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based programs of care for patients with renal conditions, in collaboration with the wider renal team.

You will support patients and their carers both within the stobhill unit and also within their own adapted homes.
It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and evidence of continuing professional development is desirable.
