We are seeking, an experienced, motivated senior leader, with a passion for improving quality of care across NHS Lothian.
The focus of this post is to create, lead, co -ordinate and evaluate the implementation of NHS Lothians Quality Strategy (Click here to download the NHS Lothian Quality Strategy using the systematic application of Quality Management with the goal to achieve, reliable, high-quality care meeting or exceeding all six dimensions of quality (safe, effective, patient centred, timely, effective equitable care).
The role is responsible for managing the Quality Directorate function. This includes ensuring that principles for managing successful programmes are embedded, and to ensure that improvement activity within NHS Lothian is led by evidence, ongoing evaluation, measurement, and knowledge of best practice nationally and locally. This post contributes to the strategic leadership and governance of NHS Lothian and provides senior strategic leadership and operational management for effective delivery of the department’s functions. These include quality assurance, risk management, quality programmes/networks and establishing an improvement infrastructure in order to embed sustainable improvements supported by informatics, knowledge management and improvement support.
Applicants must have extensive experience in leading, managing, reporting, and assessing, assurance and improvement functions, in a complex, large healthcare system. They must be able to engage, motivate, challenge and influence others to achieve positive change and demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
