Clinical/Counselling Psychologist – Secondary Care (CMHT) Psychology (0.5 WTE, 18.75 hours);

Adult Mental Health Inpatient Psychology (0.5 WTE, 18.75 hours)

Up to 37.5 hours (1.0 WTE)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to our Secondary Care and Adult Mental Health Inpatient Psychology service. The post is a split post offering part-time hours with Secondary Care Psychology and part-time hours with Adult Mental Health Inpatient Psychology. Both aspects are managed under the same team, with the same Head of Service.

The Secondary Care Psychology service covers 3 integrated community mental health teams (ICMHT). This post would be primarily integrated into the Stirling Integrated Community Mental Health Team based at Livilands Mental Health Resource Centre, Stirling Community Hospital.

The Adult Mental Health Inpatient Psychology service provides psychology input into three acute adult mental health wards and some limited input into the Mental Health Acute Assessment and Treatment Service (MHAATS). These are provided at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert.

The post holder will provide speciality psychological assessment and intervention for adults with complex and severe mental health difficulties (Secondary Care Psychology) and for adults who are receiving inpatient admissions in the acute mental health wards or through MHAATS (AMH Inpatient). Additionally, there is opportunity for indirect, multidisciplinary work, including the facilitation of team formulations and provision of consultancy and supervision of colleagues and/or trainees.

Although the position is a split post covering full-time hours, we would welcome applications from anyone interested in part-time hours in any one part of the post (0.5 WTE minimum). Please be sure to clearly indicate in your application if you wish to be considered for part-time hours and for which part of the role. Applications are welcome from HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologists and trainee psychologists who are due to be eligible for HCPC registration this year. Newly qualified staff will be supported with supervision training.
