An exciting opportunity has arisen following an expansion of service for a Phlebotomist to join an already established team at The Institute of Neurological Sciences department. This service provides a venepuncture service on behalf of all departments within the institute of neurological sciences, comprising of Neurology, Neurosurgery and OMFS as part of the Regional services directorate of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the Phlebotomy Service to all wards within the institute of Neurological Sciences in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital; ensuring target times are met and adhered to for the delivery of blood specimens to the laboratories.
You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to patient-centred care, continuing professional development, an understanding of our service, and the specific needs of our patients (or a commitment to learn and develop these skills).You will demonstrate flexibility, and a willingness to participate in service progression and growth. The ability to work effectively in a team is essential. Venepuncture qualification is essential, with the willingness to undertake cannualation training if not already completed. The shift pattern for this post is 7.5hrs shifts but may involve weekend working.
