Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse

1 Full time – 37.5 hours per week (Permanent)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for three band 6 Community Mental Health Nurses to join the Midlothian Community Mental Health Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an enthusiastic and dynamic community mental health team who provide a service to people who live in Midlothian.
Candidates will be expected to provide assessments and inform treatment plans for those people under the care of CMHT. You will be a good communicator and self-motivator who delivers high quality care. You will be expected to carry out in depth assessments in the community and you will be expected to contribute to and formulate care plans and risk management plans.

You will be expected to provide specialist knowledge and application of mental health assessment and intervention with a recovery focus.

Provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives.

Support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines and policies.

To provide teaching and supervision to junior staff and students.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
