Based in Livingston, West Lothian, this satellite unit of the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC) has a reputation for the provision of high-quality evidence-based cancer care and research for both Oncology and Haematology patients from the local area.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a (Trainee) Haematology Clinical Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive specialist haematological care to patients and their families based at St John’s Hospital, Livingston, ensuring the highest standard of personalised nursing care is delivered in partnership with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. 

The unit provides day care treatments for mainly malignant haematological conditions as well as supportive therapies for patients such as transfusion and venesection in a recently upgraded facility shared with Oncology.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative (Trainee) CNP to join our team.  They should have relevant haematology experience. Knowledge and experience of delivering Systemic Anticancer Therapies (SACT) will be expected.  They will work with a large team to deliver an extensive portfolio of treatments safely and effectively to cancer patients and will be able to demonstrate advanced patient management skills. The candidate should have (or be prepared to undertake) training at SQA level 10, either NHS Lothians Clinical Decision-Making course or an equivalent.

The successful applicant will mainly be based at St John’s Hospital, Livingston but may be asked to travel to any clinical area within NHS Lothian to support or provide appropriate senior cover.  ​​​​​​​
