Complementary Therapist
AFC equivalent Band 4 (£25,914 - £28,187)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Complementary Therapist to join our friendly, compassionate and busy team at ACCORD Hospice, with an aim to develop and provide a complementary therapy service that offers holistic and individually tailored care to Patient's and carers in the cancer setting - inpatients and outpatients. Working pattern - 10 hours over 2 days.
We are looking for someone who wants to make a real difference to our organisation and the community we serve. Based in Paisley, Renfrewshire, ACCORD Hospice provides individualised, compassionate care to patients living with a ‘life-limiting’ illness and support for their family. With the introduction of our Community Hub, which hosts all our community services, this is a really exciting time to join the ACCORD Hospice Team. We are currently evolving our care approach within the community towards a model that increases access to services and the overall ‘outreach’ to the community we support. This post will be integral in helping us deliver our vision for the future of Palliative Care in Renfrewshire.
The post holder will:
- Offer and provide Palliative Complementary Therapy Treatments (PCTT) to patients and their carers within all areas of the Hospice within their sphere of competency.
- Ensure that patients are holistically assessed for PCTT.
- Work alongside the multi-disciplinary team, showing a degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
- Have the ability and understanding of dealing with sensitive patient/carer issues.
What we are looking for:
- The ideal candidate will have experience or a keen interest in working in Palliative care, with knowledge of current palliative care issues beneficial. Training and support in relation to palliative care will be given.
- The successful candidate must be a Member of a Professional Governing Body (e.g. FHT-Federation of holistic therapists).
- Evidence of on-going personal / professional development.
- They must be a keen team player with good interpersonal and communication skills who believe that working with people in the last years of life is a privilege. In return the successful candidate will join a team who are passionate about providing a wide range of services to support patients and carers, to enable people to enjoy a good quality of life, maintaining independence for as long as possible.
