The Nuclear Medicine Service in Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Scientist. The role will primarily be based in the Nuclear Cardiology Department at Glasgow Royal Infirmary which provides a comprehensive and wide ranging Nuclear Imaging and stress testing service, supporting hospitals from Dumfries to Stornoway covering the whole of the West of Scotland. The department has 2 modern cardiac specific solid state gamma cameras along with a large associated imaging network. Analysis and reporting of all scans is the responsibility of Nuclear Cardiology physics staff.
The post-holder will provide clinical scientific services for Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics to Forth Valley Health Board. Nuclear Medicine at Forth Valley Royal Hospital provides a wide variety of work (both diagnostic imaging and therapeutic) for both in-patients and out-patients. The department has a single dual-headed gamma camera which will imminently be replaced with a modern SPECT/CT scanner.
You will be a registered clinical scientist with a degree in physics or equivalent with relevant post-graduate experience. Individuals in their final year of formal clinical scientist training are welcome to apply. These posts are an exciting opportunity for you to develop skills across a range of modalities within a supportive team. The service undertakes research and it is anticipated that you will contribute to this interesting, non-routine, aspect of the work. The successful applicants will be based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. This post will be subject to appropriate Disclosure Scotland and/or security checks before appointment.
