The Ayrshire Urgent Care Service (AUCS) provides out of hours social work and 24/7 urgent care provision throughout Ayrshire incorporating a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, professionals and operational personnel.  

AUCS operates in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment and has undergone a period of transformation and restructuring. This has created opportunities for suitably qualified professionals to join an established management team, committed to leading and shaping ways to provide safe, effective and exemplary urgent care with a system wide focus. This also incorporates supporting delivery of new pathways being created through the Redesign of Urgent Care Programme and joint working with other services and local partners to enhance urgent care provision for Ayrshire citizens.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified nurses with advanced clinical assessment for the role of Clinical Nurse Manager/Practitioner within the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service (AUCS).  You will use advanced nursing skills to conduct full clinical examination, investigations, determine differential diagnosis and first line treatment of patients in need of urgent out of hours care within AUCS. They will use advanced clinical decision making skills in order to formulate appropriate plans of care in partnership with patients. 
You will provide professional leadership to the nursing staff and professional advice to Senior Medical and Nursing Staff, professional groups and Senior Managers. They will be responsible and lead on the sustainable and transformation in health care within AUCS, professional and operational management of the Out of Hours Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) team and responsibility for the implementation of the clinical, corporate and staff governance agendas.
You will directly manage the nursing resource and secure operational delivery of nursing services within their remit. You will function as a member of the AUCS senior management team ensuring that robust systems, policies, procedures, professional guidance, remain in place to support all nursing staff within AUCS in line with professional requirements.  You will also lead the recruitment and the future development of the ANPs within the service.
Applicants should demonstrate extensive post registration clinical and management experience with an in-depth knowledge of primary/unscheduled care.  Experience of leading change management, knowledge of clinical governance and a thorough knowledge of the local and national nursing agenda and development needs of nurses is required.
Standard working hours are 37.5 per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday though some out of hours working providing direct clinical patient care may be required to meet the demands of the service.You will work flexibly and participate on a 24/7 on-call management rota (Agenda for Change T&Cs apply).
