Greater Glasgow Health Board is seeking to appoint a Clinical Scientist to join our experienced team of ten physicists and five technologists in Health Physics. We provide radiation protection, diagnostic radiology physics and non-ionising radiation services to Health Boards within the West and Borders of Scotland.
The post offers the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to develop and broaden their experience in all aspects of the service. You will contribute to our diagnostic radiology quality assurance programme and will be encouraged to develop and implement image optimisation techniques in collaboration with clinical staff. You will support our radiation protection activities in x-ray, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy and also in non-ionising radiation. The role will also enable you to contribute to postgraduate teaching and specialist training programmes and to take part in research.
Applicants should have a good honours degree in physical sciences and an MSc in medical physics or equivalent experience. Candidates should be HCPC registered as a Clinical Scientist.
Glasgow is a vibrant city, which has a wealth of sporting and cultural opportunities on offer, including being home to several orchestras, and famous art galleries and museums. The city is close to the beautiful Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Central Highlands and the west coast. There are excellent transport links with the rest of the UK and further afield.
