Consultant Vascular Surgeon (3 posts) Full-Time and Part-Time
Based – Ninewells Hospital, Dundee / Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy
Full Time (40 hours p.w.), Monday to Friday, with on-call commitment / 2 x Part-Time (20 hours p.w.), Monday to Friday, 1 x on-call commitment and 1 x no on-call commitment
Applications are invited for the posts of permanent full-time, permanent part-time, and fixed term part-time Consultant Vascular Surgeon appointments to the East of Scotland Vascular Network. 20 sessions per week are available and can also be offered part-time positions.
Vascular services for NHS Tayside and NHS Fife have been delivered through a network, East of Scotland Vascular Network (ESVN), since 2002. The appointee will join the current 7 NHS Consultant Surgeons, 1 Professor (Interim Medical Director), one part-time NHS consultant surgeon based in NHS Fife and 1 part-time Specialty Doctor working within ESVN. The appointee will be expected to perform clinical duties within NHS Tayside and NHS Fife.
The ESVN carries out a wide range of open and endovascular surgical procedures. There is an established EVAR service deploying fenestrated, branched, thoracic and infrarenal stent grafts jointly with IR. Renal access surgery, surveillance and maintenance are well developed. Amputation rehabilitation and limb fitting are supported by a dedicated physiotherapy team. The Network has a strong commitment to both undergraduate and postgraduate training.
