Ninewells Hospital represents the East as one of the four Major Trauma Centre’s in as part of the Scottish Trauma Network. The ethos of the network is to provide all aspects of trauma care, from the point of injury to rehabilitation and beyond. An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary, patient centered team providing care for the complex multiply injured patient.
Working with the MDT and specialist consultant, the post holder will be responsible for the assessment, treatment and management plan for patients across the major trauma pathway. This is an evolving and dynamic role for which successful candidates will demonstrate advanced skills, knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires the ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent service and care to patients and you will work closely with the Major Trauma Consultants across a variety of specialties including, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery and Radiology.
The successful candidates will be given the opportunity and support to complete the PG Diploma in Advanced Practice, as a minimum, if not already completed and must be committed to undertake any further specialist trauma training as required.
All candidates who meet the minimum criteria are welcome to apply and will be supported to undertake required education and supervised practice to develop their competence and confidence to fulfil the duties of an ATNP through appointments to a training post, (subject to the terms and conditions of Agenda for Change and the application of Annex 21 paragraph1. Comprehensive education and supervised practice will be provided to support trainees to meet all of the requirements of the ANP role across the four pillars of practice for advanced practice.

Hours of work are: 12 hour shift pattern over 7 days.
