The Mesothelioma administrative support assistant has a central role within the Respiratory team and works with NHS staff in Tayside and National Mesothelioma Network to: · Co-ordinate the management of the patient pathway working collaboratively regardless of originating Trust. Acting as a link between the Mesothelioma MDT, hospital diagnostic and treatment departments, the patient, and primary and secondary care to manage and negotiate patient appointments, discussion of treatment plans and to facilitate the patients’ journey. § Working closely with Nurse Specialists in dealing with patient queries and ensure implementation of investigation and treatment plans. § Liaising with referring Trusts with regards to inter-Trust referrals and any inherent complexities.
