Job Purpose

South Lanarkshire ADP is preparing to support the development of 4 community trauma informed recovery focused treatment and care service hubs in its 4 localities. The focus of these hubs is to provide a faster response to individuals in need, to provide earlier intervention, and the delivery of a more “bottom up” approach providing more involvement with people with lived experience as peer mentors and recovery champions. The role of the hub coordinator will be to serve as an accelerator to the process and work in tandem with the host organisation in the delivery of recovery, care and treatment activities. The purpose of the hub coordinator is to act as a conduit between the existing Alcohol Drug Partnership support team and the host organisation. The post holder (s) will be the visible link and support provided by the south Lanarkshire ADP ensuring that all activities delivered are in alignment with the S/L ADP strategy and that all activities delivered within hubs complement and are complemented by existing statutory and third sector services in relation to the ethos of recovery and providing care, support and treatment of people with problematic alcohol and substance use and their families.

This post is essential for promoting, recruiting, developing and leading peer supporters and recovery volunteer, The post holder will contribute to bridge the existing volunteers’ networks of recovery activists within local communities and service providers.


​​​​​​Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required;

Experience Required:

  • HNC level in Health/Social care and the equivalent experience would be SVQ level 3 and experience in similar environment and/or having lived experience.
  • Experience of working with individuals in recovery
  • Experience and evidence of success in developing and delivering initiatives
  • Experience of  coordinating projects
  • Proven experience in effective partnership working


Knowledge/Skills:

  • Excellent leadership skills
  • ​​​​​Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent understanding of community development practice and principles within the context of recovery and employability
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight and conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Effective computer skills and an ability to use a variety of computer packages
  • Knowledge of local and national recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and drug misuse
  • Knowledge and experience of what works to promote and sustain recovery
  • Excellent inter-personal skills to influence and develop positive working relationships with a wide range of staff and organisations
  • Able to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to work accurately.
  • Strong competence with relevant IT systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Trakcare and Winscribe
