Stobhill and HSCP Sector Estates Department are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, resilient and hardworking Electrical Technician to join the team.

The requirements of the post are to maintain a wide range of building services plant and equipment and were necessary, provide technical expertise when required including operating and maintaining safe and efficient systems of work for all building services. Diagnose and repair faults in electrical engineering equipment and building services. Understand the working of the electrical and mechanical systems within NHS buildings. Carry out planned preventative maintenance using work requests and completing all records and documentation as required and work to NHS GG&C Health and Safety, SHTM Policies and Procedures.  Undertake minor alterations and modifications to existing services. Carryout electrical circuit testing in accordance with all regulations. Organise and manage on a day-to-day basis their work load and priorities.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00 hrs and applicants will participate with on-call duties as part of the on-call team to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours are attended to as per the current local agreement.  Designated individuals will require undertaking training to be certified as a Competent Person undertaking specialist and refresher training as required to be able to undertake the duties of the post. 

 It is a perquisite that applicants must have undertaken an apprenticeship in an electrical core trade and are willing to undertake further training in non-core skills across all service requirements. A suitable qualification of an HNC or equivalent in a core subject with additional qualifications as required in the non-core skills is essential.  We are committed to the delivery of outstanding care for our patients.
