An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated registered nurse to join our ENT team as an ENT Nurse Practitioner within Ward 11B QEUH.
GG&C have the largest centre in the UK for Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) issues working closely with local GPs to provide a comprehensive range of emergency and non emergency services. Our teams of experienced clinicians are at the leading-edge of ENT healthcare and are committed to ensuring that patients are offered the best care.

The ENT Nurse Practitioner post will support Treatment Room activity and form collaborative relationships within the wards medical and nursing teams. Successful completion of their training will allow them to assess, diagnose and manage the clinical (medical and nursing) needs of patients with a range of ENT conditions referred directly from primary care, ENT Consultants and other specialities in secondary care.

It is essential that the post holder possesses excellent communication skills and will have the ability to perform a key role in the clinical management of ENT patients with common or emergency conditions under the direction of the Consultant ENT surgeon. This includes experience of the artificial airway - tracheostomy / laryngectomy.

You should provide evidence of being able to demonstrate autonomous clinical decision making within a multidisciplinary team environment.

You will work within the nursing, medical and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care which will include conducting invasive and non invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures where appropriate.

You will have an opportunity to facilitate change to improve quality within the service and promote and support innovation in practice.

This post may also be considered as an Annex 21 post at Band 7.
You must be a First Level Registered Nurse with a minimum of 6 years post registration experience with at least 4 years ENT experience.
You will ideally be educated to degree level or have commensurate experience, possess well developed IT skills and be able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills.
