If successful in your application, your role within this post is to assist in the development and delivery of Health Promotion activities with the overall aim of improving health and reducing health inequalities in line with Scottish Executive priorities and local priorities and needs. This post is based within the tobacco control team and will work predominantly on delivering prevention and protection actions contained in the Lanarkshire Tobacco Control Strategy.
Applying candidates should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and previous experience of working in health promotion or a relevant health/health improvement related discipline. Experience in working in one relevant, specific topic or skill-based area e.g. with young people, mental health, physical activity, nursing, community development, training, research. Understanding of the health improvement policy agenda is essential within this role along with training, facilitation and group work skills. Project management skills, organisational and time management skills are required along with partnership working, negotiation and problem-solving skills and research and evaluation skills. Candidates should gave good written and verbal communication skills, proficient IT skills and a current driving licence.
