An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Staff Nurse to join the Childhood Immunisation Team (schools) to deliver the National School Immunisation Programmes to school aged children across NHS GGC. Providing a Childhood Immunisation Service is fundamental in taking forward the Public Health Agenda which aims to maximise the health and wellbeing of all school aged children and young people and also contributes to the reduction of health inequalities as well as achieving National and Local health objectives through the focus on preventative care.
The post is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running the immunisation sessions and crucial in the safe delivery of the school immunisation sessions. Therefore it is essential that you possess the knowledge and skills to take forward an effective and accessible service to all school aged children and young people across NHS GGC. You will provide professional nursing skills and have the ability to liaise with parents/carers and all our partners. You must also be a First level registered nurse with evidence of further professional development is essential. The post requires PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check.
The post available:-
1 x community staff nurse – to cover South Glasgow/East Renfrewshire 37.5hrs
The post is permanent and based on an annualised contract spanning 8 months from August to April, working days between Mon to Fri from 8.30 to 16.30. The salary is paid over 12 months (pro rata). You may be required to work cross boundary over NHS GGC when required with occasional evening and weekend work.
