An exciting opportunity has arisen to help provide research leadership across NHS Fife Health Board and Health & Social Care Partnership, implementing strategic direction and ensuring organisation-wide compliance with EU and UK clinical research legislation, with responsibility for the day to day delivery of research.
You will be required to build on the existing research, to deliver a portfolio of that reflects local and national research priorities, providing research-related expert advice / support to the wider R&D team, other NHS investigators and Pharmaceutical, Medical and Device companies wishing to undertake research within NHS Fife.
Substantial experience of research within the Public Sector, NHS management and leadership at a senior level, and of R&D approvals, research management and governance processes are highly desirable. In depth specialist knowledge and understanding of the application of the extensive legislation and guidance surrounding the conduct of research clinical research are also required.
Education to post graduate level in a scientific/healthcare discipline (MSc/PhD) with significant expertise working as a researcher or in a research environment.
You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, negotiation and organisational skills able to work independently and efficiently, with a high degree of accuracy and flexibility able to form good working relationships across the R&D team and local Support Departments.
The post will be based within the R&D Department at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline with travel to all NHS Fife sites and nationally as required.
